McEachern Art Center presents ‘Progression: From the Archives of Ric Geyer’
Reception: 6 p.m. on December 6th and runs through January 25th.
The McEachern Art Center (the MAC) will present an exhibition titled “Progression: From the Archives of Ric Geyer,” showcasing a selection of Ric Geyer’s completed artworks, sketches, and photographs that highlight his artistic evolution. The exhibit opens with a reception at 6 p.m. on December 6 and runs through January 25.
Progression offers an immersive experience into the development of Geyer’s artistry, providing a visual and narrative journey from his early years to the present day. The exhibit invites visitors to engage with the ongoing transformation of Geyer’s creative vision, emphasizing the dynamic relationship between his concepts and final works. The collection includes sketches, materials, and finished pieces that illustrate the maturation of his artistic philosophy, techniques, and processes.
“Ric was one of the first artists I connected with when I returned to Macon, and we’ve been collaborating ever since,” said Johnny Cohen, the MAC’s director. “This exhibition tells the story of Ric’s growth as an artist, from his childhood influences to his impact on the Macon community.”
In addition to the visual works, the exhibit features narratives and photographs documenting Geyer’s artistic endeavors in Detroit, Atlanta, and Macon, highlighting the spaces he has transformed and the communities he has shaped in each city. To guide visitors through this journey, directional arrows, and lines will lead them through the exhibition, connecting the dots from Geyer’s early experiences to his current contributions to the art world.
